Having just posted about food waste tips through Covid-19, we thought it would be a good time to repost a guideline relating to home composting – and common waste items you can and cannot put into the various bins.
We have updated this infographic to now include Council collections, which is applicable if your Council offers a food and garden waste collection service*. From our research we can see that at least 5 Councils now offer this service with others coming onboard this year. We expect these numbers to continue to grow.
If your Council does not currently offer a collection service, many do offer subsidised compost bins and worm farms. Check their websites for more information on this.
*Check your Council website or waste/recycling info to double check the acceptable items. Our research is based on 5 Council websites but it could differ across the board.
